Friday Night Randomness...

...for the life of me I can not figure out where this week went, what I was doing, or even if it was enjoyable.  But we all survived so I'm going with that.

I miss "Friday Night Lights," which is why I am here racking my brain for something to post.

Muse is still missing.

We have had ice storms before but I have never seen the amount of damage done to the 'middle' sized trees as I do this time.  That would be trees around 15years of age, old enough to be well established  but young enough to have fragile branches.

My dog is sick.

She is 14years old, it doesn't look good.

Today is National Chocolate Cake Day.  I am in need of chocolate be it in cake form or otherwise.  (as we speak hubby is making some chocolate pudding, just sayin')

I am going to a tea party this weekend, just us girls!

Monday is the start of something big, really big, a very special give-away.  You will want to enter this one oh yeah.

So what random thing are you doing on a Friday night?

  1. I was watching Law and Order SVU episodes. I haven't seen them all so some times it is nice to see one I haven't seen before which is what happened tonight. I do wish you lived closer!!!!! We are supposed to get some snow this weekend and more rain by Tuesday. Not much in the snow though, about 2 inches totally. I hope your weekend is a great one!

    1. I'm glad to be done with the snow for the season. We usually get one big one every year and that scars us enough to last till the next winter. These ice storms are awful though and we are having ice-fog tonight. Guess I'll stay inside. Have a good weekend.

  2. The whoa-man and I were designing some address labels with some of our photos of animals. Yeah, Higgins is one of them. Also, a small basket with the first eggs Goldie Flocks laid.
I made a double batch of choc/brownie muffins Thursday. Made myself sick eating them. Still didn't stop. ;)

  5. I made a big cake for Dad! I was at his place overnight, as that is my 'night', and thought I'd make his fav cake....a 'pound-like' cake as in pound cake? Not chocolate but it hit the spot.

    1. she is a 85lb Rhodesian ridgeback/golden lab mix. She is just the sweetest girl and we spoil her rotten since all our real children are out of the house (how dare them!). She's hangin' in today and has a little more energy. I know she's not in pain and we will let things progress naturally until it gets to that point.

  9. I'm am so sorry to hear about your dog Jojo. That is always such a hard thing. I had two old dogs die within six months of each other about four years ago. One was 12 and one was 15. I had gotten T.T. just before the 15 yr old died because I thought he would lessen the blow. They gave so much for so long and it was time for them, but it was still so difficult.
I have been having big blog fog lately and can't for the life of me seem to think of anything of interest to say lately. My days are going awesome, but just not interesting enough to share. I am hoping I get some inspiration soon.
I know what you mean about the younger trees. We have seen that too here. There has been a lot of breakage after our last storm and am afraid some trees are going to look kind of weird.
Hoping you have a great week ahead my friend.
    hugs from here...

  11. Hi, sweetie.... I hate to hear about your furbaby being in a bad way as I just dodged the bullet with my 12 year old at Christmas time. As June said they give us so much and we know that the time will come... but it still doesn't make it any easier... Looks like it was a 'random' weekend all around in our blog world. Carol and I both are vegging like there is 4 feet of snow outside and we have had a very mild (50's and even 60's) winter with only one sprinkling of snow for about 12 minutes one evening... Guess our bodies just think it is hibernating time. Carol writes a blog about cooking, Cooking With Grandma Carol (cookingwithgrandmacarol.com) and has started a story blog from her growing up days, CarolSueSmith.com. You might enjoy both of them occasionally. Love you, lady, and thanks for keeping on checking on me even though my muse is off somewhere running around with your muse...

  12. Wish I'd have know about national chocolate cake day...I could use a good excuse to eat a big gooey piece of chocolate cake! Hmmm, Friday...went out to the local Greek restaurant with hubby after work. Came home, put my jammies on, crawled in bed, and read a good book. A perfect evening.

  13. Me too, so sorry about your dog being sick. Been there, done that and it's so hard.

I crashed Friday night and slept from the time Steve left till he got home. Ran around all day doing errands. I couldn't go one more day without my Estee Lauder under eye highlighter to get rid of these nasty under eye problems. That means a trip to the mall and well, we know how distracting that can be. Then the grocery store to fix a huge layered salad to take to prayer group. By the time we were almost ready to leave, I couldn't go one more step so Steve went dateless. The guitar player must go on:)

    I love chocolate cake!
