Tuesdays tids...

...just some bits and pieces from the windmills of my mind (who sang that) that are too small for their own post.

My dog is shedding, huge chunks of golden blonde fur, falling/floating everywhere.  I could make a puppy out of the fur I clean up on a daily basis.

Remember the $5 chair?  Of course not, it was way back last summer.  Anyway, there will be before/after pics some time this week.  Yes, it only took me three months to get it painted and recovered....I suck at this.

Update on Frankentoe:  at my two week check-up xrays showed normal healing with new bone growth, all pins and screws were firmly in place.

At my four week check-up xrays showed no new bone growth, in fact all the previous bone growth was gone.  All pins and screws have migrated to other parts of my toe.  What the hell??  Back in a cast for another week.

I've been keeping our thermostat at 67degrees during the day, 65 degrees at night, which is just a tad bit too cool for me.  Thus, I am wearing leggings, sweatpants, two tank-tops, a long sleeved shirt, two pairs of socks and my normal unders.  I wonder if it's worth that one degree of savings.

What temp do you keep your thermostat set at?
Have a great tuesday y'all.  Be Thankful....as I am today for Tuesdays, so I can spread the misery joy!

  1. Too funny JoJo... I just got out of a hot shower to warm up now i'm swetting from being overheated. UGH. Hubs has been painting a rocker for me. He has found he enjoys it. My malinois is going to be getting hair soon then she'll shed heavy again in the spring. Bugzy dives under the covers at night and sadie-mae would be happy in siberia. :)

    Time for tea. Hugs. Tammy

  2. Hey, JoJo,
First of all, I like your new header. It is nice.

My thermostat is set at 64, but I think it is off. It sure feels warmer than 64. My hubs likes to change it, higher! He sleeps with socks and under a folded blanket, while I'm kicking my feet out all the time. I went thro' the 'change' at least 10 years ago, so I don't know what is going on.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle, and the bones and screws. That sucks!

  3. this is not good. Do they give you a bone stimulator? It's something you can attach and sleep in. You need some help here or you know what the end of this story is going to be.

  4. The original from the movie...Noel Harrison, but I've also heard it done by Dusty Springfield (who I love). :) It was written by Michel LeGrand, who I became familiar with when I saw the movie "Summer of '42" back in junior high, and have loved since! Oh yeah...I'm talking about Windmills... BWA!

Are you ready for this, JJ? At night, I put the thermostat down to 60 and I leave it there until I get too chilly. Then I turn it up to 65. I wear big wool socks and big warm sweats--real sweat pants and shirts, not the cute stuff--around home. I've been thinking of getting a new pair of Cuddl Duds for under because sometimes I have to wear a t-shirt under the sweats. Sometimes if I'm not feeling well, I'll put it up to 67 but it usually doesn't stay there long. Do you feel warmer yet? :)

  5. What the heck is going on with that toe?!

Can't wait to see pics of the chair.

We keep the temp at 67 during the day and 62 at night. It's also set to go off and on the hours we are not home. If the nights get really cold and the heat comes on too much my husband will lower it to 60 at night. I love my thick fuzzy socks and sweaters.

  6. I am like you What the heck is up with that. Why would it the xrays be so different. Sorry to hear that.
JOJO I have to have my heat and I really have to pay for it. lol Thats why I work two jobs. No my house is so old that it is hard to heat. I keep my thermostat usually on 72 but when I get up at 3:30 to dress I run for it to up it to at least 75 while I am dressing. lol
What really is sad there are 3 fireplaces in this old house and I can not use any of them because of their age.
    YOU take care of you.

  8. We keep ours at 64 most times. We sleep with a electric blanket to help us warm up and 2 other blankets on top.

I am so sorry about your toe. Being in a cast sucks. I had foot surgery in 2000 and was in one for a long time. I pray it gets better for you!

Can't wait til we can see the chair!! You do better than me. I procrastinate so bad!!!

ILY. Hope to hear from you soon!!

    God Bless~

  9. I love your Tuesday tids girl. Back in the cast??!! NOOO!! So sorry.
You'd die at my house. We heat only with woodstove. It's our only source of heat and it is always way too hot in our house! Our kids hate to visit in the Winter.
    Hugs,

  10. With the thermostat set lower, I think you need a Slanket! Saw it on QVC yesterday. do you have a fireplace? I plan on using mine more often this year.
Typically, my thermostat is set at 63 at night and I haven't figured out the day time one. Not cold enough to run the heat during the day. Thanks to living in the South!
    take care of your toe!

  12. I laughed when I read this. I used to have a cat that coughed up hair balls that looked like small, furry animals.

It has been chilly, windy, rainy, and ... chilly here in the Pacific Northwest, so I have been keeping my thermometer at 70. I turn it down when I go to work, though. Where are all these storms coming from !?

Gosh, I hope you toe gets better soon.

  13. Enough fur to make a puppy? That's really funny JoJo.
What is going on with this toe of yours. Are you drinking your milk?.., dairy products? Is the diabetes causing this? More info please...

We turned the heater on before dinner and off when we go to bed. It never gets above 68 degrees in the evening but it works because we just wear more clothes and I keep my socks on when I go to bed.

But..., this is California and we don't live in snow country.
