"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

A simple wish...

 Princess Anna
 a con-fab of twirling prinsess's

...there is a business in our small town, located in an old Victorian mansion, called A Simple Wish.  They hold princess tea parties, everything princess for sale and even have a Princess school.

Every year, as a fund raiser, they hold a Princess Tea at the high school.  I took Maude and her mom two years ago and it was so much fun.  We made some wonderful memories that day.  Maude has been asking me ever since then "when is the next Princess tea?"  Hubby and I decided to take her again this year and since her mama was working her daddy came as her dashing Prince.

This is no slouchy affair mind you.  All the Princess' are dressed in their finest dresses, heels, and tiaras.  The parents dress up as well and this year there were even a few "superhero" boys attending.  The high school drama club was dressed as characters from "Frozen" and performed a play and a sing-a-long.  There was dancing...not bad odds for the boys with at least forty princess' to choose from!  There was tea and goodie bags, crafts, and pictures with the cast with a 'frozen' backdrop.

Our girl is not the least bit shy.  She bounded up on the stage and introduced herself to all the other Princess's.  They all danced around making the skirt of their dresses twirl and jumping off the stage, yeah.

Then we went home and my brother had made two batches of banana pancakes with berries and whipped cream.  She had a blast as did the rest of us.  Her daddy loved being a Prince for the afternoon and even danced with his girl as poppa and I looked on with huge smiles on our hearts.   A long afternoon/evening but we did our duty...filled her up with sugar and sent them on their way.  Yay us.

p.s. I took 164 photos that afternoon...we go three good ones.  hmmm.

  1. Hm. Anything could have caused that, but it does seem a fairly low percentage. *hugs* ♥
I have never heard of anything like that, but it does sound extremely fun. ^_^

  2. It sounds magical! My little Zara would love that, her sisters are too "grown up" for such events, or so they think. Zara is still so sweet and innocent at 8. I always wanted to have a tea room, but I am too old now. Too much work!!

  5. What fun, Joanne. I am so happy you were able to do this and see her have so much fun. Those precious days with little ones are fleeting at best. It is something she will remember her whole life, I bet. xo Diana
