"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

I can feel it coming in the air tonight...

...Fall is here, it arrived with 70mph winds, rain and blowing leaves, flooded streets and power outages.  All the end of a typhoon that came our way last weekend.  We were fortunate not to have any damage or either of the tornadoes that touched down were near us.  We just have leaves, leaves and more leaves.  The trees aren't giving them up as quickly as previous years, nor are they as colourful.

I was noticing how the shadows were falling in the dining room through our many (10) maple trees out back.  Tried to catch it but...

The Gerbera daisies are still going strong, the only flower in my garden to bloom this year.  I'm thinking of growing these and only these next year.  That and dahlias.

This is a picture of a picture of our city that I found in a thrift store awhile back.  Perfectly depicts our rainy days.

The 'mess' on my dining room table waiting for Miss M to come and decorate for grandma.  She loves organizing and is always asking to put the dishes away and clean the closets.  Yes!

little punky in her new dress.  We took my brother out to dinner and a surprise birthday party on Saturday so we all dressed up.  You don't turn 70 everyday and we haven't seen him for many years...it was nice to have all the siblings together for the evening.  More to come...

be well friends.

  1. Gerberas, beautiful, and a great colour to go with your leaves, Hope all is going to plan for you this autumn season. And to have a brother, and to celebrate his birthday, so special.

  2. Miss M is a treasure! And that is a lovely painting. You were lucky to find it.
I am glad the birthday dinner went well.
Be safe and God bless, Joanne.

  3. My Gerberas are yellow and still blooming. Marigolds and zinnia still going strong. The cosmos, though are over 4 feet tall and bloom daily. The wind did blow some of them over and broke the main stems. My mums have just started to bloom. Your picture is lovely, but nothing can compare to your Miss M!
