Monday snap...

... Fall arrived a little late this year, which is fine with me, nothing I love more than to have Summer stretch it's lovely warm days into the next season.  With leaves still on the trees and the colours slowly changing we were happy that the raking chores were light.  Then came last weekend, and a huge windstorm, and a few inches of rain, and more wind and then some cold and well...the leaves have fallen.  And so the raking begins.

Except for this guy.  He was face height at the back door a few days ago, begging to come in the house.  I could hear him knocking and pleading to be let in, he didn't wish to become mulch like the rest of the leaves.  So I brought him in and now he's between the pages of a book.  Wonder which is worst?
Happy Monday Peeps!

  1. It seems like that guy was destined to be saved. A huge wind storm stripped our trees several weeks ago.

  2. Too bad the wind storm didn't blow the leaves out of your yard. ;-)

But then, if your neighbors are close enough, maybe you ended up with theirs!

    Have a wonderful week!

P.S.Don't forget saving the leaf between sheets of waxed paper to hold the color. :-)

  3. He deserves to be framed! We had a slow fall but then we had a quick taste of winter with 3in. of snow..then it was back to late summer with temps in the high 60's...then back to fall with wind and rain..so goes the weather in Ohio!

  5. That made me giggle a little. He sure is a pretty leaf. I like to press leaves and then decoupage them to candles - the look fabulous when the candle is lit.

  6. "And so the raking begins."... oh yes it has.
That little leaf made you pay attention and now it will live on in the pages of your book.. warm and dry. Nice thoughts. Love this post.
(Love your new header photo too... or did I tell you that already)
