"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

a simple request...

...I know you are all roasting and toasting in the hellish heat that has gripped the country, I have even heard speak of "Fall."   But I beg you please, please wait just a little longer.  We are due to have three days, in a row, of sunshine with temps. in the eighties...we could actually break records for the hottest day of the year if it gets to 82 degrees.  Please let us have our Summer! (three days is all I ask)

Thank you and have a great weekend!

  4. I'm with you...just keep this weather here on the West Coast for a little while longer. It happens to be a long weekend up here in BC so it is time to enjoy the sunshine.

    Have a great weekend.

  6. I'm ashamed to admit we've had a Goldilocks summer here. Not to hot, not to cold, just right. Ah me, I love the warmth and store it up in my bones for the frozen winter months to come!

And then revel in the cold, knowing that I'll appreciate it during the triple digit summer, lol!

  10. oh my! To be only in the 80s!!! Wow, that would be beautiful. Unfortunately, it has been in the 90s and low 100s this past July. I am hoping for a slightly cooler August!

  14. Beautiful day in the neighborhood! My son and his family came over today to relax in our yard, and enjoy the cool shade of our cedar trees,(and our AC when it got too hot for our webbed feet)! Our Grandpeeps froliced in their little wading pool enjoying the sun in all it's glory! Big hugs, Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs

  15. Days in the 80's are the BEST! I would certainly go for that! (for everyone) I just wish we would get some rain in our neck of the woods. We have been having our share of wild fires here, too, and it is just so dry. We have been hearing that we might have this "dry spell" until the end of October. It is really taking a tole on the farmers and ranchers!!

  16. By the time I got caught up on reading my blogs, you have had a couple nicer days. We are looking forward to a day of only 75 degrees or so this Thursday. It will be a much needed respite from our very hot weather.
