In search of Spring...
...last weekend, after the snow had melted, I took a little walk around the back yard in search of any signs of Spring. I have been suffering with Spring fever for several weeks now and hoped I would find a cure, or at least a little bitty hope.
tree branches from the last wind storm...
the last vestiges of a hydrangea blossom...
to the moss that has taken over the lawn...
to the bud-less branches waiting for the sun...
to the un-raked leaves still laying in the yard..oh, wait...what is that I see...there...that little sprout of green, could it be, could it?? Oh my yes...it's a Daffodil, there next to a weed. Yeah, there is hope.

Falling for Maudern love...
...it is very rare indeed when I get to use the name of a song (Modern Love) and my g-baby's name (Maude) in the title of a post! Thanks to my son for thinking of it!
Well we are completely smitten over her by this enchanting little girl. She has been the easiest baby so far for her mom and dad but this week when all the "grandma's and grandpa's" go back to work I think this may change.
You probably have a picture of me, in your mind, camping out at their house, ready to jump into grandma mode at any moment but, truth be told I have only been to see her twice in the last eight days. And, since hubby returns to work tomorrow, it may be awhile before I see her again...(he's my chauffeur). The little dumpling lives about 1 1/2 hours uptown(?) downtown(?) from us and if you've ever been on the freeway in Seattle then you know why I won't drive it alone!
We went for a little visit today and the changes she has made in the last few days are quite striking. No more newborn puffiness/redness, or curly hair. It has taken on a reddish tone and her eyes seem to be bright blue although I know this often changes. She sleeps well, eats like a little monster and constantly has her right hand up over her mouth/eye/face. Even when swaddled she MUST have that hand out!

Just in case...
..you all thought I was here, rocking the newborn girl, drunk on sweet baby love, walking on sunshine...I'M NOT!
The sweet little dumpling is still happily ensconced at Chateau Mommy. They have tried all the proven methods of starting labour...spicy food, lots of activity, motivational speeches...that girl has a mind of her own!
Induction on Monday if nothing happens sooner...
