"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

Sad, lonely, a little empty...

...and in need of a good wipe-down.

Just a few short weeks days ago my home was shiny and bright.  It was full of laughter, food, love and celebration.  It was a happy place as were her owners.  But now...now...the party is over my friends.  The New Year has begun in earnest and slowly, ever so slowly, my home is making it's way back to it's humble pre-holiday beginnings.  *sigh*

  3. It's such a let down but I find January to be the perfect time to either plan a party or plan an event. I decided to take 2 classes so I've got something exciting on my calendar.

  5. I know what you mean! I have left all my snowmen out, but put all the rest away. I miss the warm glow of the lights. I have two old half doors with leaded glass windows and am thinking I will lean the against the wall and put some lights behind them. Maybe I should install sunlamps behind them so it would seem the sun is shing in ..........

  8. Oh this is so true! After every decoration is taken down, we're left with an entire house that needs cleaning! haha.

  10. I haven't done that yet. I planned to do it last saturday, but I got a cold and it hasn't been taken down yet. Ugh, I agree, if only we had this season all year!

  12. I know the feeling...
So I throw myself into a good project, right now I am redoing the computer room. It is in dire need of a facelift and now is a good time to do it.
    Many Blessings

  13. It does look kind of austere after the decorations get put away but it's also a new beginning.... a new "clean slate" if you will. I like the idea that we celebrate and then we clean up and move on.
Try to make a new arrangement on the mantle and, for heavens sake, go get a pedicure or a massage just for you... or go buy yourself a big bunch of flowers and put them in a beautiful vase.
Be happy, my dear. We are alive.
