Three Days...

may your Easter weekend
be filled
with growth and renewal,

the warm Sun,
Nature awakening to Spring,

Chocolate bunnies and speckled eggs.

May the sounds of
love and laughter
fill your heart and your day.
It is time to
celebrate!

Easter Blessings
my sweet friends.

Monday's **snap**...

...my apologizes for the quality of this photo, it was taken from a moving car.  This sign sparked many a conversation this weekend.  Ben Stiller beware!

Don't give up on me yet...

...I know I haven't been around much, not only do I have a blog-block (ouch!), I have a crazy annoying stubborn case of dry eye.  It seems especially annoying whenever I am doing anything I enjoy that causes eye-strain such as being on the computer, watching t.v., looking at things.  I've got some special eye-drops (well...actually it's any eye-gel which causes a whole new set of problems,) so I should be back to normal (read: random) soon.

I am doing the best I can to keep up with y'all and I know you will forgive me for not commenting.

I have a busy, busy weekend ahead.  On Saturday I am giving a talk at a local Diabetes Education Class and on Sunday we are celebrating an early Passover with my son and his bride.  This will be our second year of sharing Passover with her family and we so look forward to spending the evening with them.  It is also Palm Sunday this weekend so we will be celebrating the beginning of Holy Week as well.

Hope you have a good weekend~~it's time to go close my eyes for awhile!

You asked for it...

...well, actually you didn't but, you could if you want...ask away.

I have nothing to add at the moment, I'm still groggy from napping.  Give me one sunny day and then I'll need three to recover!

So, what's on your mind today?

Monday's **snap**

...where I share a snapshot of my weekend, both literally and figuratively.  Why don't you jump on in and let me know how your weekend was?

Saturday was a lovely welcome to Spring (sorry if Spring has not made it over to your place), a sunny, sorta warm day to be outside as long as you were looking up.  Otherwise, looking down brought it's own version of Spring...leftover Fall and Winter chores.  Leaves, moss, long grass, weeds, weeds, weeds..*sigh.*
Sunday was Winter again, two-faced Spring!  Cold, windy and raining.  Thus the cookie making..yum.  And, the kitchen is DONE..except for the faucet...arghhh.

Have a good week y'all.

A girl of few words...

...have all conspired to ruin my get-away plans.  Oh, yeah...and a couple of these...

It seems between the two of us (three including her grand-girl) that we couldn't get all of the above to agree on letting either of us out of town on short notice.  *sigh*

THE friend...

google images

...I got a call from my friend Kat today.  I hadn't talked to her in awhile but as always we just picked up where we left off as if no time had passed.

We met in 1992 at work.  She was hired as my assistant and instantly we became the best of friends.  We would work together all day and then promptly at 5pm each evening she would call me and we would talk about all the things we couldn't talk about at work.  Our husbands were friends also, so making plans and hanging out together was so easy, so fun.  Oh, the stories we could tell.

She is THE friend.  The one who knows everything about you.  The one who knows what makes your heart laugh and your soul cry.  She is the one who knows my deepest darkest fears and who holds my hand when I think I can't possibly go on.  We have carried each other through rivers of tears and we have soared together through fields of joy.  THAT friend...do you have a friendship like that?

She moved to Boise a few years ago.  It's just close enough to visit a few times a year (about 12hours from here, 10hours if she is driving) but too far for a casual jump-in-the-car visit.  It takes time and planning and doesn't happen as often as it should.  Life gets in the way like that sometimes.   But, my friend called today...THE friend...my best friend...my closest thing to a sister friend...and she needs me.

I will be back in a few days but for now I'm on my way to my friend, THE friend, with love and hugs, laughter, joy, tears, sharing, cooking, eating, shopping, talking, eating, and chocolate.  See you soon...jj

Living with Intention...

..as you may (or not) recall I christened the year 2010 as the year of 'Living with Intention.'  I have set forth a goal for every month and, although I am late getting to this months goal, I have been working on it.

March = Balance
~~~finding beauty in everyday~~~
~~~finding time for solitude~~~

I read somewhere that liviing a life with balance does not mean that everything is perfect and pretty.  For me it means learning to be happy with where I am and who I am at any given time.

Whether it's painting the kitchen (the never ending story) or purging the house, pulling the gazillion weeds out in the yard, or purging the house, looking at a pretty magazine, cooking a nice meal, cutting those darn coupons, looking for thrifty treasures, cleaning and purging the house~~~it's all about finding balance.

Do you take the time to find beauty in everyday?  How about solitude?  Do you make time just for yourself, to nurture the special, wonderful person that is uniquely YOU?

White Wednesday (5)...

...well here it is~~White Wednesday~~again.  And even though I skipped last week it seems to have rolled around again quite quickly!  I am linking with Kathleen at Faded Charm and all the other wonderful White participants. Check it out...really!

I found this wee tea set the last time I was thrifting.  It was the only thing I found that day.  I would have passed it up, but for $1 I just couldn't walk away.   My daughter has several wee tea sets packed away and someday I hope she will have a place to display them all~~including this one.

Thanks for stopping by!

Monday's **snap**

where I share a snapshot of my weekend, both literally and figuratively.

...this is THE only photo I took all weekend.  It was taken out my kitchen window at sunset on Saturday.  That is my Magnolia tree, a tree that was given to me in memory of my mother.  Steel Magnolias...truer words were never spoken.

We had a very quiet weekend here.  Almost finished up with the kitchen, just a little accent and touch-up painting to do, then install a new faucet and viola!  The faucet is the only thing new in the room so with the can(s) of paint we were quite frugal with this update.  It's amazing what a nice clean coat of paint, a few recycled (from other rooms) accesories, and a new accent color can do for a room.  This living frugally thing might just catch on!

Every Sunday the hubs and I go out for a newspaper and a cup of coffe, sometimes a little goodie too.  This is something we have done for years, talking about the week ahead, the week behind us, vacation plans, etc.  It's always been a really nice thing to share especially when the kids were still at home.  Now, it's just nice to intentionally take the time to sit down together and focus.  Well, all that to say, he has been called into work the last few Sundays so I have basically lolligagged (what does that mean) around the house all day and pretty much accomplished nothing!  We did meet but it wasn't until 4pm...just not the same as sharing a morning coffee.

We had spectacular sunny weather on Saturday, temps. in the 60's and spring bustin' out all over.  Today it is December with temps. in the high 30's and windy.  I wonder how much longer we will all be experiencing such vast weather changes.

So tell me, how was your weekend?

Thursday's thought...

...thank you all for your in-put.  It has been quite interesting and it appears that most of us feel the same way...

I will be back in a few days, just have some things I need to take care of here, and hopefully I will find some blog fodder as I am on 'empty' right now.

Take care and have a good weekend =)

Curious...

...as I make my way around blog-land I have noticed a recurring theme and I am curious as how you handle it.  KD from Fresh Fixins alluded to it last week and now it seems to be my turn.

When I visit my favorite blogs, or even a new blog, I often leave a comment.  I can truthfully say that I do not always leave a comment.  Perhaps the subject is not of interest to me or I don't feel that I have anything useful to say...I really am quite shy, but, more often than not I do comment.  I try to leave a little note of cheer or encouragement and sometimes I may even share a particular memory that their post may have evoked.

There are a few blogs that I visit that rarely leave a comment on my blog.  I know they have come by and I can't help wondering why they never say a word.  I am not referring to lurkers but to specific bloggers who don't take a moment to comment,  I will not name names!

Do you comment in like to every comment you recieve?  Do you comment every time you read a post?  Or do you read and leave...wondering and waiting...signed, Curious.
