"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

Living with Intention...

..as you may (or not) recall I christened the year 2010 as the year of 'Living with Intention.'  I have set forth a goal for every month and, although I am late getting to this months goal, I have been working on it.

March = Balance
~~~finding beauty in everyday~~~
~~~finding time for solitude~~~

I read somewhere that liviing a life with balance does not mean that everything is perfect and pretty.  For me it means learning to be happy with where I am and who I am at any given time.

Whether it's painting the kitchen (the never ending story) or purging the house, pulling the gazillion weeds out in the yard, or purging the house, looking at a pretty magazine, cooking a nice meal, cutting those darn coupons, looking for thrifty treasures, cleaning and purging the house~~~it's all about finding balance.

Do you take the time to find beauty in everyday?  How about solitude?  Do you make time just for yourself, to nurture the special, wonderful person that is uniquely YOU?

Yes I find that I do take the time to notice the beauty in the every day...especially since started my 'creative' blog...it really helps me to keep the pretty things at the forefront of my thoughts, and it has been positive for me to see that I can help to make other people smile through my photos, thoughts, words, etc....

  5. Sounds pretty selfish! Me, me, me! LOL Just kidding. You've always gotta take time for yourself, and be happy with what you have. But change the things your not happy with that you are able to...does that make any sense? Hmmm...

  11. beautiful post again Jojo. I love your ideas on living your best days. I too have to choose this for myself to be happy. Even on my worst days, I can find so many beautiful things to be thankful for. Sometimes it really is just a choice to choose happiness.

  12. I never leave a blog post of yours without taking a life lesson with me. Thank you for the words of balance. I need them more than ever now with Michael deploying in May. The days are just slipping away and my motto at the moment is, "Michael is only here until May 20. If what you want/need to do can be done after May 20, then put it off and enjoy your son." Right now we are trying to get through the entire DVD series of The West Wing through Netflix and we just temporarily upped our disks from 2 to 4 to get it done. He is a history major and his mother is not, so we pause it during episodes so he can explain to me what is going on(the RAI treatment for my thyroid cancer is taking a tole on my brain...thinking used to be so simple!) Anyway, keep on blogging so I can keep on reading. Michael will be mobilizing at Ft. Lewis, WA. How far is that from you? If he flies out from there instead of his unit in Illinois we may get to go to Washington to see him off. It will probably be late May or early June. Take care...love you!

  13. Good Morning JoJo Sweetie...
    I try to find time for myself. You know I spend quite a bit of time purging my house, is this a woman thing?

    I have been doing more crafts and trying to find time for me. I actually have decided to take a trip just for me, all by myself to visit my friend Blushing Rose in Maryland. I am leaving in April for 8 glorious days. I can't wait.

    Have a beautiful weekend. Try not to purge to much this beautiful day. Do something wonderful for yourself sweetie. Make yourself something happy.

    Love your post today sweetie. So precious. Country hugs...Sherry
