"the nicest and the sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens, but just those that bring simple pleasure, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string."

What March taught me...

It is not easy to "stop and smell the roses."

We've trained ourselves to always be thinking ahead.

But if you never live in and fully enjoy the present, what kind of life are you living??

  1. Thank you... That is something we all need more of... reminders that we are missing what is in front of us at this moment in time.

And the roses are gorgeous! I can almost smell their fragrance.

  2. Jojo,

There are joys all around us if we just take time to see them. My joys for today...seeing and getting that shot of the Great Blue Heron.

To answer your question, I only use a digital camera. It takes beautiful outside shots and has a zoom lens. I would like one with a more powerful zoom though, as sometimes mine isn't good enough. However, the Great Blue Heron was flying low right over the park to make his landing in his favorite spot along the canal here. It was a once in a lifetime experience, I suspect.

Thanks for your comments. I hope you're doing well.

  3. Your post is a very nice reminder to enjoy the moment. Sadly I spend time preparing for meetings, sitting in meetings, then, following up with the meeting. In these days I just count my blessings that I have a job! This week I have done some "spring cleaning" in my office and worked with skyfm.com piano playing in the background. It has been my goal to make the workplace more of a pleasure. Maybe I need to add some roses too!!!

  4. You miss alot when you dont stop and look back to see where you've been.

  5. I think you're talking directly to me today. Sometimes I feel that I've missed the last 20 years trying so hard to see the future. Thanks, dear jojo.

  6. Thanks for posting your insight. I watched an episode of Touched By An Angel today and it emphasized the importance of getting 24 hours out of each day. Have a great weekend!
